Concussion
The concussion information below is provided by the lawyers at Pritzker | Ruohonen, a leading head injury law firm. Often when clients come to us with a head injury, they do not realize how seriously injured they are or the full extent of their financial losses due to the head injury. Our lawyers guide them to the appropriate medical professionals to make sure they are compensated for their injuries. If you have been in a car accident, motorcycle accident, bike accident, been hit by a vehicle or fallen on someone’s property and suffered a head injury, contact a lawyer at Pritzker | Ruohonen for a free consultation. Please call toll-free at 1-888-377-8900, e-mail Fred Pritzker at info@pritzkerlaw.com or fill out the online-consultation form. Fred Pritzker has over 30 years of experience and has been selected by other lawyers for inclusion in the 2005-2006 edition of The Best Lawyers in America.
Concussion
Concussion is the most common type of traumatic brain injury (TBI). A concussion is a short loss of awareness or consciousness in response to a head injury. The injured person may not black out but may merely feel dazed. Most concussions are mild, but some can have serious, lasting side effects.
Traffic Accident Concussion
Most concussions happen during traffic accidents. You may have suffered a concussion while driving a car, motorcycle or bike. You may also have been run into while walking in a pedestrian crossing or on the side of the road.
Slip and Fall Concussion
For people over 75 and very young children, falls are the most common cause of concussion. Some falls are due to the negligence of another, for example, a fall on a store’s slippery floor or icy sidewalk. If you have fallen and hit your head, you may have suffered a concussion or more serious head injury.

Brain Injuries and Motor Vehicle Accidents
One of the major causes of traumatic brain injury (TBI) is motor vehicle accidents. Even a "minor" accident may result in brain injuries. We guide our clients through the process of determining the extent of the brain injuries, and we work to obtain just compensation for those injuries and the related pain and suffering.
Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries Related to Electrical Accidents
Another major cause of brain injuries is electrical accidents. Brain injuries from electrical accidents can occur as a direct result of an electric shock, from a fall after an electric shock, or from cerebral anoxia due to related respiratory problems.
