South Dakota Boy in Hospital with HUS

A four-year-old from Brandon, South Dakota is in a Minneapolis Hospitalwith hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), probably from an E. coli O157:H7 infection.  South Dakota health officials are investigating this illness along with others that may be part of an E. coli O157:H7 outbreak.

Multistate E. coli Outbreak Spreads to 7 States
The multistate E. coli outbreak linked to Kroger Co. and Nebraska Beef, Ltd. has spread to 7 states: Michigan (Michigan E. coli), Ohio (Ohio E. coli), Georgia (Georgia E. coli), Indiana, Kentucky, New York and Utah. MN Cub Foods Recall and Lawsuit Information
Minnesota Cub Foods stores are recalling Wild Harvest brand Beef Choice ribeye steaks, sirloin steaks and strip steaks, all beef products that were part of the August 8 and 14 Nebraska Beef recall.

Kroger Salmon Recall

Vita Food Products, Inc. of Chicago, Illinois has notified the public that twelve individual packages of Vita Nova Salmon, were sold at Kroger stores in Houston, Texas on or after July 22 of this year may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. In addition, 192 individual packages of this same product have either possibly been sold or are being offered for sale at various grocery stores in the Avenol, New Jersey metropolitan area.

Pritzker | Ruohonen attorneys Fred Pritzker and Elliot Olsen recently secured a $950,000 recovery on behalf of a young man who developed septic arthritis eight days following knee surgery. The suit alleged that the doctors responsible for his care failed to recognize, test and treat his knee infection.

Oklahoma E. coli

An Oklahoma E. coli outbreak may have sickened over 40 people. One person has died and three children are on dialysis. The Oklahoma State Department of Health has reported that a large number of the people sickened ate at the Country Cottage restaurant in Locust Grove. Virginia E. coli Outbreak Associated with Goshen Scout Reservation

A Virginia E. coli outbreakhas been associated with Goshen Scout Reservation. Nine of the boys sickened have been hospitalized. Two of them have hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS). California Campylobacter Outbreak Associated with EcoDairy Farms Raw Milk

Health officials have associated a California Campylobacter outbreak with raw milk from Alexandre Family EcoDairy Farms, a Del Norte County, California dairy. One woman sickened in this outbreak has developed Guillain-Barré syndrome.

E. coli - Georgia Outbreak Linked to the Barbecue Pit and Nebraska Beef, Ltd.

An E. coli outbreak in Georgia has been linked to the Barbecue Pit in Moultrie, Georgia and Nebraska Beef, Ltd. beef products. Our lawyers are representing 3 Georgia E. coli victims. This Georgia E. coli outbreak is part of the multistate outbreak below.

Massachusetts E. coli Outbreak

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health is investigating six cases of E. coli O157:H7 in Massachusetts residents. E. coli - Connecticut Outbreak Associated with Raw Milk

An E. coli outbreak has sickened 4 people in Connecticut. Health officials have reported that the common link is raw milk sold at Town Farm Dairy in Simsbury, Connecticut. Two of the four people sickened were hospitalized.

 

E. coli - Minnesota Outbreak Associated with Wonder World Preschool

An E. coli outbreak at Wonder World Preschool in the town of Slayton, Minnesota has led to eight confirmed cases of E. coli O157:H7. One child has been hospitalized and is showing signs of hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS).

 

E. coli - Washington E. coli Outbreak Associated with Lettuce

9 people from Thurston and Pierce Counties have lab-confirmed cases of E. coli O157:H7 that may be linked to bagged lettuce. Federal, state and local health officials are investigating this outbreak.

 

Roseville, MN Good Earth Salmonella Outbreak

According to the Minnesota Department of Health, at least 6 people have contracted Salmonella infections after eating at Good Earth restaurant in Roseville, Minnesota.

 

Amarillo, Texas IHOP Salmonella Outbreak

According to the Amarillo Department of Public Health, at least 10 people have contracted Salmonella infections after eating at an International House of Pancakes (IHOP) in Amarillo, Texas.

 

E. coli - Nebraska Outbreak Linked to Roast Beef

A Nebraska E. coli outbreak associated with roast beef has sickened at least 14 people. Epidemiological evidence indicates that those sickened ate the roast beef at a private event at a Sarpy County reception hall on March 26, 2008.

 

Hepatitis A - La Mesa Chipotle

At least 21 people have contracted hepatitis A after eating at the La Mesa Chipotle in San Diego County, California. The San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) and County Department of Environmental Health (DEH) are investigating.

 

Listeria - Whittier Farms Milk

Three elderly men have died, an unborn child has died, and two other people have been sickened in a listeriosis outbreak that has been linked to milk sold by Whittier Farms in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Health officials are warning consumers not to drink Whittier Farms milk products.

 

Salmonella - Puffed Rice Recall and Puffed Wheat Recall

At least 23 people in 14 states have been sickened in a Salmonella agona outbreak linked to a puffed rice and puffed wheat recall initiated by Malt-O-Meal Company.

E. coli - Rochester Meat Company Recall and Lawsuit

Rochester Meat Company has recalled ground beef due to possible contamination with E. coli O157:H7. At least 5 people in Wisconsin and 1 person in California have been sickened in an E. coli O157:H7 outbreak associated with the recalled meat.

 

E. coli - Jeno's and Totino's Pizza

General Mills has recalled about 414,000 cases of Jeno's and Totino's pizza because pepperoni on the pizzas may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. At least 21 people in 10 states had E. coli infections associated with Jeno's and Totino's pizza.
